Over the past couple years, Rantoul Street in Beverly MA has undergone a thorough streetscape improvement process. To celebrate the realization of this long-term project, Beverly Main Streets and the business and local community joined together last Sunday May 6th in recognition of the evolving corridor. Rantoul Street Art is a project of Studioful for Beverly Main Streets, Beverly Arts District, and #ReimagineRantoul
Come take a walk downtown and see all the community art works on both sides of Rantoul Street from Railroad Ave to Federal St. These blocks are made from donated wood, upcycled metal hangers, and local creativity. They are simply hung from the perforated sign posts at eye level for easy viewing as you walk down the street.
We created "Rantoul Street Art" as a way to contribute community art to the improved commercial corridor: we provided art blocks and engaged people at the celebration to paint their own small piece of art that would be displayed on Rantoul Street as a pedestrian gallery using the existing sign posts as the infrastructure for the art works.
