We showcased the possible and stimulated people's imagination with Community Design Events on the empty lot at 289 Derby so that locals could gather and design a new public space - together. Over five weeks, events engaged the community to Dance & Design, Play & Plan, and Eat & Imagine, leading to a unified choice for a new waterfront park.
We built a large calendar to commemorate each of the five events. People could see what was next, and what they may have missed. We collaborated with dozens of local groups, businesses and organization. Our lead partner in placemaking was Creative North Shore. CBA Landscape Architects were lead landscape designers.

Local Coast to Coast paddle boarders joined our gatherings - we can now imagine that land to water connection.
After everyone ate, they used their placemats to vote on their favorite plan, top activities, and how they would use the future waterfront park.
